Gaze at the Sony Xperia 1 III in this short video that shows the phone spinning 360°

Image
credit:- Peter {GSM ARENA} After publishing the first Sony Xperia 1 III renders, @OnLeaks created a short video that offers a 360° look at the phone. And with a phone like the Mark 3, many of the good stuff are on the side. As the phone rotates, notice the camera shutter button plus the Xperia Pro-inspired customizable key on the right side. It’s just below the power button/fingerprint reader combo. A couple of seconds later the 3.5mm headphone jack comes into view. And then the card slot, which will have room for a microSD. This is a paragraph we can’t write about many 2021 flagships.   Other things to notice are the two loudspeaker grills above and below the 6.5” 4K OLED display. Most phones with stereo speakers have transitioned to using earpiece + bottom-firing speaker for their stereo setups. And, finally, there’s the triple camera on the back. It will have a periscope lens, a first for Sony, but unfortunately we still don’t have details on the othe...

First Video of 150MPH Ferrari World Formula Rossa Roller Coaster Released

Image
Inhabitants of the UAE's capital city Abu Dhabi don't do things by halves. After all, they have gold-dispensing cashpoints, the world's tallest tower, and now... the world's fastest rollercoaster. It's called the 'Formula Rossa' and it can reach speeds of almost 150mph, just like that, hurtling its passengers at speeds that even German Autobahn traffic cops would cock an eyebrow at. Harnessing the same technology that powers fighter planes off aircraft carriers, the rollercoaster's carriage travels the ride's 2.07 km (1.2 miles) distance in just a minute and half. Oh, and did we mention it was built above Abu Dhabi's Formula 1 track? Well, it is. It's the star piece for the "Ferrari World" theme park that's opened just in time for the UAE's grand prix on November 12th. This attractions rockets its passengers to speeds in excess of 140MPH over a 1.2-mile track. And though we can't offer our beloved readers...

How to Break Into a Mac..

Image
We recently went through a few ways to break into a Windows PC without the password, and it turns out it's just as easy to break into a Mac too. Here's how to do it and keep yourself protected. Just like on Windows, there are quite a few ways to break into a Mac, but many of them are variations on the same thing, so we're going to highlight the two easiest ways—one with a Mac OS X installer CD and one without—and show you how to keep yourself protected. Note that while these two methods will get you into the OS without knowing the password, you can always just use our previously mentioned "lazy method" with a Mac too—just boot up the computer with a Linux Live CD and start grabbing files. How to Reset the Mac OS X Password Both of the methods outlined below are ways to reset the Mac OS X password. While there are cracking utilities like John the Ripper or THC-Hydra, they're either complicated to use or expensive to buy, so we won't go into the...

Virgin Galactic Spaceport Now Open, is World's First

Image
Virgin Galactic has opened its first commercial spaceport "Spaceport America" in New Mexico. The facility will be able to launch all known types of spacecraft. Fresh off its first successful solo space flight, Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic airline has completed the runway to its first commercial spaceport. “Spaceport America,” in Upham, New Mexico, is now operational. The port includes a two-mile long runway with a thickness of 42 inches, or 3.5 feet. It’s built to support any form of spacecraft currently in existence–a short compatibility list. Virgin CEO Richard Branson: “The last few weeks have been some of the most exciting in Virgin Galactic’s development. Our spaceship is flying beautifully and will soon be making powered flights, propelled by our new hybrid rocket motor, which is also making excellent progress in its own test program. The investment deal with our new partners Aabar has successfully closed, securing funding for the remainder of ...

Powerloader Light Exo-Suit Adds 40kg of Kick-Power to Your Legs

Image
If this exo-suit is the Powerloader Light, I'm guessing this is the Powerloader. It can increase leg power by 40kg, though at a cost of $223,000, none of us will be kicking someone while wearing it anytime soon.  Panasonic is selling the Powerloader Light for half that price to developers ($111,500), with the request that any research must be presented within the first year. The idea behind it is that it can help with rehabilitation, but when it runs on Linux 2.6 and can be modded both at software and hardware levels, I know what I'd be using it for. Kicking down pinatas and sprinting off with my spoils, yes. Source:[VIA plasticpals ]

Nokia Finally Wakes Up and Starts Looking For a New CEO

Image
The Wall Street Journal reports that “people familiar with the situation” indicated that Kallasvuo, who has held the CEO title since 2006, will soon be ousted for a new leader. And continued to report as “They are serious about making a change,” one person familiar with the matter said. Nokia board members are “supposed to make a decision by the end of the month,” that person said. The CEO of a major U.S. high-tech company recently spurned Nokia’s approach after meeting with Chairman Jorma Ollila, because the candidate wasn’t interested in moving to Finland, this person said. Nokia also has flown in at least one other U.S. based executive to interview for the CEO job, the person said. If the reports are true, it looks like there could be a shake-up at a U.S. based company as well as the mobile manufacturer poaches American companies for a new leader. While the news strikes hard, it strikes fast as the decision by Nokia board members will be made by the end of th...

Scientists Discover the First Planet With a Tail

Image
Scientists have discovered the first cometary planet, one with a huge tail, a stream of gas being ripped off by solar winds at 22,000 miles per hour. This jovian world is located 153 light-years from Earth. The planet—called HD 209458b—orbits 100 times closer to its home star than our Jovian neighbor, traveling in an astonishingly fast 3.5-day orbit. For comparison, Mercury—our solar system fastest planet—has an 88-day orbit. Since HD 209458b is so close to the sun, the stellar winds are ripping the planet's atmosphere apart. Scientists have used the Hubble's Cosmic Origins Spectrograph to gather evidence that support the theory that its 2,000ºF atmosphere is being ejected from its body at 22,000 miles per hour. According to astronomer Jeffrey Linsky, of the University of Colorado in Boulder: Since 2003 scientists have theorized the lost mass is being pushed back into a tail, and they have even calculated what it looks like. We think we have the best observational eviden...

With Android floodgates wide open, HTC HD2 gets Froyo and Sense with 2.1

Image
It's been a long, ugly road, but HD2 owners and hackers alike can finally bask in the glory of an open device with top-notch hardware and specs that still give mid 2010's best phones a run for their money. We'd already seen a stock Android 2.1-based ROM, but now we've got your choice of stock Android 2.2 or Android 2.1 with Sense, too -- seriously, pick your poison. Though HTC clearly never intended to get this kind of Sense on the HD2, there's something that just feels right about it, isn't there? Follow the break for videos of both firmwares in action. David After Dentist YouTube Video Generates $150,000 for Family

Image
Don't let anyone ever tell you that being a viral-video star is not a viable profession. Business Insider reports that the DeVore family has made roughly $150,000 since January of last year, when David DeVore uploaded a video of his son, also named David, to YouTube. That video, ' David After Dentist ,' became an Internet phenomenon, and, thanks to licensing deals and a partnership with YouTube, the family has been raking in the dough. Of those licensing deals, the one with the highest profile was certainly the Vizio commercial aired during the Super Bowl , but David DeVore hasn't been shy about selling the likeness of his heavily medicated son. In fact, a recent deal will result in a line of 'David' scrubs for dentists. During his interview with Business Insider, DeVore even took the opportunity to openly court Crest and Colgate for a sponsorship deal. The original video still draws over 100,000 viewers a day, and the family has every intention of continuin...

Lenovo's Skylight and U1 Hybrid being revived with fresh Qualcomm silicon?

Image
Japan-based Toshiba and China-based Lenovo are set to launch new smartbooks by the end of August and the end-of-year holidays, respectively. Toshiba will launch a smartbook under its Dynabook line, featuring Nvidia's Tegra 250 processor, Google's Android operating system and a 10.1-inch display. The device will initially launch in Japan and gradually spread to Europe, the Middle-East and Africa. In addition, Toshiba is preparing two ARM-based tablet PCs for the end of 2010, which the company has outsourced to Pegatron Technology. Although Lenovo has already revealed its two smartbooks, the Skylight and IdeaPad U1 Hybrid, the company recently decided to upgrade their specifications from Qualcomm's single-core 1GHz processor to Qualcomm's new dual-core 1.5GHz processors such as MSM8260, MSM8660 and QSD8672, while also switching the operating system to Android, and so will delay the official launch until the end of the year. Compal Electronics and Wistron will both b...

Microsoft Is Still Huge

Image
Sure, Microsoft may have given away its lead and legacy in mobile and probably jumped into too many hyper-competitive sectors, but they still have the widest reach in technology. And they're still pretty damn successful. In recent years, Microsoft may be a step or two behind, but they're relevant in nearly every sector. And with Office 2010, a new Xbox 360, Kinect, and perhaps most importantly, Windows Phone 7, all receiving substantial upgrades this year, 2010 is shaping up to be absolutely huge for them. And that's coming off a 2009 where Windows 7, Bing and the Zune HD were introduced. We're just so used to Microsoft being around that we sort of take them for granted for all the good that they do. So Microsoft revealed some numbers to serve as a reminder.

Every PlayStation 3 Goes 3D (With Glasses)

Image
Sony's going to be pushing 3D hard, starting right now. Every PS3 is going to get 3D capabilities through a system update. Sony's Demoing the 3D on stage right now. You need glasses, but it looks very much in 3D. If you don't wear 3D glasses, it's just a normal screen. But when you do wear glasses, the 3D effect becomes prominent. Stuff close to you might be slightly blurry though, but it's definitely 3D. Bullets and sparks shoot at your face. Raising up the gun to AIM brings up the gun RIGHT IN YOUR FACE. From where I'm sitting, on a giant 100-inch projection screen, the 3D is kind of dizzying. Immersive, but...I'm going to vomit. (After taking off the glasses, Sony's Jack Tretton looks like he's in some kind of weird 3D. Residual 3D effect...weird.) Source [via gizmodo ]

Lee Enfield Bolt Action Sniper Rifle (working)

Image
a working lee enfield bolt action sniper rifle with detachable sniper scope and bi-pod, fed from 8 brick magazines. T his is by far the best rifle I have ever made. It is a working magazine-fed rifle in bolt-action configuration, with detachable magazines, sniper scope and bi-pod You can see a video   here   that explains all of what I'm about to say   'Bolt action' means that every time you want to load a round, you flick the bolt lever up, pull it backwards, push it forwards again and flip it down. By doing this you will extract a 1x4 brick from the magazine, pull back the 'hammer' (rubber band), insert the brick into the chamber and hook the rubber band onto the back of it. Bolt-action rifles were one of the first types of repeating rifle, along with the pump-action and lever-action. They were used in WWI and WWII, as they are reliable and easy to use.   This rifle has a sniper scope, bi-pod stand and 2 8-round magazines. The stand is collapsible and d...

Awesome Homemade Gadgets

Image
Well, today we see the home made gadgets. The below gadgets are absolutely home made and come on lets check out those gadgets. Take a look at.. Wiimote Power Glove Plenty of Wii controllers are out there, but this custom-built Power Glove is the first to be compatible with the console -- created by a talented Japanese gamer. As you can tell from the video demonstration below, the controller retains wireless functionality and has no problems being detected by the sensor bar. Disintegrator The problem with most rubber band guns is that they're only designed to shoot one band at a time. This chaingun, called the Disintegrator, takes care of that problem. It's comprised of 479-pieces, boasts 24 revolving barrels (288 rubber band capacity), and can shoot up to 40 rubber bands per second . Plenty of Wii controllers are out there, but this custom-built Power Glove is the first to be compatible with the console -- created by a talented Japanese gamer. ...

TRANSFORMER Robo by Chinese Students..

Image
This giant Transformer Robo was designed and made by the Students of   China Central Academy of Fine Arts. It stands at 32 feet-tall, and weighs in at a staggering 4 tons! Incredibly, it’s almost entirely made from parts from an useless old truck made useful by these students. Other than some parts on his face and the sword, everything else is recycled truck junk. The design is not inspired by the Transformers (movie) but based on the Chinese  deity   Guan Gong . To be frank I don't find any resemblance of any human being, but seems like the hereditary of the Transformer grand son.  This is the old truck used for the erection of this huge Robo. I don't it costs more than $20 bucks... Anyway appreciate the all students for the beautiful work who took part in the erection of the statue. Source [via tech ]

Out of this world: Hubble celebrates its 20th birthday with amazing pictures of a turbulent cosmic tower

Image
This stunning image is not from some artist's science fiction fantasy but was taken by Nasa's Hubble Space Telescope. For 20 years it has been peering into deep space and this image was released today to celebrate its birthday. Taken earlier this year the picture captures the chaotic activity atop a three-light-year-tall pillar of gas and dust that is being eaten away by the brilliant light from nearby bright stars. Look at the clarity and the closeness of each picture where we can see every particle very clear. These two images of Carina Nebula show observations taken in visible and in infrared light by Hubble reveal dramatically different views. The one on the right reveals the stars behind the nebula's wall of hydrogen laced wtih dust The image of Carina Nebula resembles this 1995 image taken by Hubble which was dubbed the 'Pillars of Creation' and has become one of its most famous images. Located at the heart of the Eagle Nebula, the Pillars are gas...
